MPK (Multi-Purpose Keys) are normally done via the User Configuration on the Velox Dashboard. However, each user also has the option to set it up directly on his GRP26xx device. The user would need to be cautioned that in the event that the Admin re-configures the MPKs from the Dashboard, this can potentially cause conflicting configuration between the locally set MPKs and the Dashboard configured ones.

How to set up an MPK directly on the device:

1. Long press the soft key button on where you would like to place the name of the person.

2.) On the top screen, you will see the details for your MPK

3. These are the MPK details:

  • Mode - The action you would like to configure for this MPK. Please confirm with your Velox Account Manager regarding the modes supported by Velox.
  • Account - The extension number of the User on this particular device
  • Description - The display text for this MPK. This is usually the name of the person you would like to include on the MPK. Please note that there is a 9-character limit on display text for the device.
  • Value - The value to execute the mode / action when this MPK is pressed. This is usually the extension number of the person that you would like to speed dial or bling transfer to.

4. To type in the “Account”, Description” and “Value”, use the soft key buttons to toggle between alphanumeric, numeric or alpha characters. Then use the keypads to type.

5. Make sure to press Save after setting up the MPK.

6. If saved successfully, the newly created MPK can now be viewed.
