The GDS3705 is an audio door access system. This audio door system features dual microphones and HD loudspeaker with advanced AEC to offer intercom functionality, can support SIP calls to IP phones and has a built-in RFID chip reader and keypad for secured keyless or key entry.



INSTALLATION:


If you are looking to setup this device with your Velox VoIP phone system, please note that the on-site installation, wiring and setup are not included in the Velox-provided services. We may refer you to an independent contractor for this service. 


Please refer to below documents for the installation guides and send these  to your independent contractor.

 

GDS3705 DEVICE:


The GDS3705 device will be delivered to you pre-provisioned. This means that the device is already configured on Velox' back-end for your company, your domain and its corresponding extension number.


The GDS3705 equipment package includes the following:


      

Once powered up and receiving data connectivity, the GDS3705 should retrieve its device identity and configuration.  The GDS3705 can be powered using PoE or PSU: 

                   

  1. Using PoE as power supply (Suggested)
    • Connect the other end of the RJ45 cable to the PoE switch.
    • PoE injector can be used if PoE switch is not available
  2. Using the power adapter as power supply (PSU not provided)
    • Connect the other end of the RJ45 cable to network switch or router.
    • Connect DC 12V power source via related cable to the corrected PIN of the GDS3705.                         

                                    

    

SETTING UP THE DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM ON YOUR VELOX DASHBOARD:


Once your GDS3705 is online, you can proceed to set up the door entry system through your Velox Dashboard.


  1. Log into your Velox Dashboard using your Administrator credentials.
  2. On the side menu, click on System Setup to expand the selection. Then, click on Door System. 
  3. You are directed to the Door System settings page. 
  4. Here is displayed the different GDS3705 devices that are allocated or provisioned to your company domain. Initially, these will be set as the Velox default values. You may change the settings by clicking on the Edit action button.          
    • USERNAME: This is the extension number assigned to your door entry device.
    • MODEL: The model of the door system, i.e. GDS3705
    • DEVICE ID: The unique identifier for this device. This is also referred to as MAC_ID.
    • CALL MODE: Chooses whether to make call to the SIP number or Virtual Number when dialling from the GDS3705 keypad. The default is SIP Number to enable to call your Velox phone system via the door system intercom. 
    • DOORBELL MODE The action to be taken when the doorbell is pressed, three options are available:
      • Call Doorbell Number: When Doorbell is pressed, a call will be made designated extension/s.
      • Open Door: When Door Bell is pressed electronic lock is opened.
      • Both of Above: When selected, both Call Doorbell Number and Open Door options are enabled.
    • DOORBELL CALL MODE When the doorbell mode option is to call a number/extension, set the ring strategy. The Serial Hunting option rings each extension one at a time while the Parallel Hunting option rings all extensions at the same. 
    • LOCAL PIN TYPE The method used to open the door at entry.  
      • Local PIN: This is the default value. All users share a Local PIN code to open door.
      • Private PIN Card: Swipe card is used for identification and entry. To set up the swipe or keycards, please refer to this guide on the GDS 3705 User Manual, page 63..
      • Private PIN + Card: Both card plus private PIN to be keyed in to open door.
    • LOCAL PIN:  If the Local PIN Type is set as Local PIN, your staff will use the same PIN number to open the door physically at entry. Velox sets a default Local PIN upon provisioning but you may change this by inputting the desired PIN in the Local PIN field. 
    • To open the door by Local PIN, enter *(Local PIN)# on the GDS3705 keypad. 
    • REMOTE PIN:  This is the PIN Number that will remotely open the door. The User who answers the call when the door bell is rung keys this PIN Number in his/her IP phone to open the door. The Remote PIN is automatically set by the Velox system as this needs to be synced between devices. If you would like this changed, please contact Velox support at support@myvelox.com
    • You may refer to this guide (click here) to instruct your Users on how to remotely open the GDS3705 door entry system.
    • EXTENSION CALLED: Use the dropdown to choose the extension number or User to ring when the door bell is pressed. Please note that there is a limit of 3 extensions in the device setting. If you wish to have more than 3 extensions for this feature, we suggest to create a Call Group then select this call group in the dropdown.
  5. Make sure to click the Save Changes button to apply your settings.
  6. Every time you make changes to the GDS3705 configuration via the Velox Dashboard, you will need to restart the device by rebooting at the PoE switch or power adaptor.
