The Custom Ringtone feature of Velox allows a custom audio file (.wav) to be played during an incoming call instead of the usual ringing tone. 


How does it work? 

  • A custom ringtone or audio is uploaded to the system. 
  • The custom ringtone is then linked to a User/Extension or a Call Group. 
  • So when an incoming call is routed to this User/Extension or Call Group, the custom audio is played. 


Scenarios:


  • DID routed to Extension which has a custom ringtone assigned. 
    • During an incoming call to this DID, the caller will hear the custom ringtone.
  • DID routed to Call Group which has a custom ringtone assigned.
    • During an incoming call to this DID, the caller will hear the custom ringtone.
  • DID routed to IVR which has an option routed to an Extension/Call Group which has a custom ringtone assigned. 
    • During an incoming call to this DID, the caller will hear the IVR.
    • Then when the caller chooses the option that is routed to an Extension/Call Group which has a custom ringtone assigned, the caller will hear the custom ringtone.


How to set it up: 


  1. Prepare your custom audio file in .wav format. 
  2. Log in to your Velox Dashboard using your Admin credentials. 
  3. Click on System Setup > Custom Ringtone.
  4. Click on the Create Custom Ringtone button.
  5. Type in the Description. Upload your custom audio in .wav format. If an audio file has been previously downloaded, you may click the play button to replay or listen to the audio.
  6. Click on Create Ringtone to save your changes. 
  7. To assign the created Custom Ringtone to a User/Extension, click on the Users page from the side menu of the Client Dashboard.
  8. Click on the Edit button on the User/Extension you would like to assign the Custom Ringtone to. 
  9. Choose the Custom Ringtone that you have just created from the dropdown as shown below. 
  10. Click Save to complete the setup.
  11. To assign the created Custom Ringtone to a Call Group click on System Setup > Call Group  from the side menu of the Client Dashboard.
  12. Click on the Edit button on the Call Group you would like to assign the Custom Ringtone to. 
  13. Choose the Custom Ringtone that you have just created from the dropdown as shown below. 
  14. Click Save to complete the setup.
  15. Ensure the DID is correctly routed by checking on the routing in System Setup > DID. 
  16. Test your configuration by calling the DID.
