BUSINESS HOUR RULES


The Business Hour Rules feature allows to customise call routing based on certain days of the week or particular times during the day. 


The Admin has the flexibility to manage the company's business hour rules, and to route the call to a  User Extension, Call Group, Auto-Attendant (IVR) or an external number like a mobile phone, etc.

The  Business Hour Rule(s) section can be found under System Setup submenu.


 



The  Business Hour Rule(s) section has two main areas. 


The Action Buttons allows you to create or delete your business hour rule set, and the manage Public Holidays button.


In this page, you are also able to view the Business Rules that you have defined or created in once glance.



A RULE SET is a set of business rules for a particular DID phone number. Click here on how to create the business hour rules.


The INDIVIDUAL RULE is where the specific business hour rule is defined. Click here on how to create the business hour rules.



For example below, 

  • The DID assigned to Rule Set 1 will be routed to ivr1 all the time. This is the default configuration.
  • The DID assigned to Rule Set 2 will be routed to extension 1008 all the time. This is the default configuration.
  • The DID assigned to Rule Set 3 will be routed to ivr3 during Lunch Break defined as Monday to Friday from 12noon to 2pm. Then, calls to the same number on all-day on weekends and after 5:30pm on weekdays are routed to ivr4. If it does not fall into any of the rules, it is routed to extension 1007 by default.
